| Quality |
| Three,
four and five year apprenticeship programs are the lifeblood
of the construction industry. Owners are assured of state-of-the-art
training and competent craftsmen. |
| On-Time
On-Budget |
As
part of the Project BEST
ongoing program, each contractor and union organization makes
a pledge to "keep working" for the good of the project
and themselves. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested
in building projects that have had the cooperative spirit of
BEST as the over-riding force that brings the job in on time
and on budget.
Improved productivity is measured in terms of reduced unit cost. In
the construction business, this concept is reflected in completing
a project on time and within budget. |
| Craftsmanship |
| We
understand the importance of placing qualified Building Trades
Craftsmen in the field. For these reasons, representatives from
the crafts and contractors serve as trustees on Joint Apprenticeship
and Training Committees. The employer trustees are appointed
by the Ohio Valley Construction Employers Council and the employee
trustees are appointed by their respective local unions. These
trustees are responsible for administering and developing the
curriculum by insuring the training meets the standards of the
U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. |
